Update Regarding the 2015 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report
The Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for Broward County, Florida is typically issued each year before the end of March. GASB Statement No. 68 became effective for fiscal years beginning after June 15, 2014, requiring state and local governments offering defined benefit pension plans to report a net pension liability and related accounts in their financial statements. Broward County, along with all other Florida Retirement System (FRS) participants, is dependent on FRS to provide this information. Due to the delay of this information from FRS, the release of the audited 2015 CAFR has been delayed. We expect that the 2015 CAFR will be issued in May 2016.
