Independent Municipal Advisory Rule

By publicly posting the following information on the Broward County Website, Broward County intends that market participants receive and use this written disclosure for its purposes of the independent registered municipal advisor exemption to the SEC Municipal Advisor Rule.

Broward County has retained independent registered municipal advisors. Broward County is represented by and will rely on its municipal advisors to provide advice on proposals from financial services firms concerning the issuance of municipal securities and municipal financial products (including investments of bond proceeds, escrow investments and other required financial products). 1To know which firm is being used for a particular credit or transaction, please contact the Finance and Administrative Services Department at the below address:

This certificate may be relied upon until revoked in writing by Broward County and published by Broward County on this website. Proposals may be addressed to Broward County by sending to the Chief Financial Officer/Director. Broward County may share the document with its municipal advisors.

Please note, that aside from regulatory-mandated correspondence between an underwriter and municipal advisor, the underwriter should not speak directly with or send documents directly to any municipal advisor unless specifically authorized by Broward County.
