Broward County plays a critical role in addressing climate change and sustainability leadership. Internally, through the Climate Change Government Operations Workgroup which looks for opportunities to reduce the carbon emissions caused by County government activities; and through the Broward County Climate Change Task Force which focuses on the implementation of strategies to mitigate and adapt to climate change at the community level. The County also supports the Southeast Florida Regional Climate Compact developing a regional collaboration for a coordinated climate change strategy between Monroe, Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach.
