NATURE OF WORK
This is advanced clerical work in customer service tasks associated with the processing of group housing requests.
Work involves providing information and responding to client requests for reservations. Duties include responding to inquires related to services and ensuring that client needs are addressed.
Work requires the exercise of some independent judgement within the framework of established policies and procedures. Work is performed under general supervision and is reviewed through conferences, reports and observation of work performance.
Processes housing requests on a daily basis; prepares and maintains written and statistical reports as required.
Provides immediate response to each guest's reservation by processing mailed or faxed request within 24 hours.
Participates in the development and coordination of annual housing seminar for industry partner feedback, training, and customer service excellence.
Responds to caller inquiries and concerns and provides information.
Conducts site inspections at main convention hotels to increase product knowledge.
Performs related work as required.

Knowledge of the principles and practices of group housing.
Knowledge of customer service practices and procedures.
Knowledge of office practices, procedures and standard record keeping.
Ability to greet clients on the telephone in a pleasant and courteous manner.
Ability to perform tasks utilizing data processing methods and systems.
Ability to express ideas effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to serve the public and fellow employees with honesty and integrity in full accord with the letter and spirit of Broward County's Ethics and Conflict of Interest policies.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public, co-workers, elected and appointed officials and members of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds regardless of race, religion, age, sex, disability, political affiliation, or sexual orientation
Skill in the operation of computerized equipment and other office machines.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification including or supplemented by course work in data processing and keyboard skills; two (2) years experience in reservation sales and customer service work; or any equivalent combination of relevant training and experience.
