NATURE OF WORK
This is advanced clerical work assisting the Marketing Managers in creating and tracking leads for the hospitality industry in Fort Lauderdale.
Work involves performing general clerical duties for the marketing managers and relieving them of routine clerical and administrative tasks.
Work requires the exercise of some independent judgement within the framework of established policies and procedures. Work is performed under general supervision and is reviewed through conferences, reports and observation of work performance.
ILLUSTRATIVE TASKS
Assists marketing managers with organizing and arranging special events; preparing event information packages, signage and other marketing pieces.
Makes phone calls; completes leads and assists hoteliers and clients with requests for information.
Complies and maintains welcome letters and kits for clients; updates and maintains all client information in a database.
Assembles materials and prepares lists and labels for mailings; maintains a variety of files.
Composes routine correspondence; types various materials and reports.
Makes travel arrangements; prepares direct payment and travel vouchers, and expense reports.
Provides front desk reception/telephone relief.
Performs related work as required.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS
Considerable knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and standard record keeping.
Considerable knowledge of clerical procedures including correspondence preparation, filing systems, and office machine operation.
Considerable knowledge of the clerical procedures applicable to the organizational activity to which assigned.
Knowledge of principles and practices of marketing techniques.
Ability to analyze and assemble information for welcome kits and event informational packages.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to perform tasks utilizing data processing methods and systems.
Ability to serve the public and fellow employees with honesty and integrity in full accord with the letter and spirit of Broward County's Ethics and Conflict of Interest policies.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public, co-workers, elected and appointed officials and members of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds regardless of race, religion, age, sex, disability, political affiliation or sexual orientation.
Skill in the operation of computerized equipment and other office machines.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification including or supplemented by course work in marketing, business or related field; four (4) years experience in general office and clerical work; including two (2) years general marketing experience; or any equivalent combination of relevant training and experience.
