NATURE OF WORK
This is a professional and highly complex administrative position that is responsible for coordination, control and processing of documents related to major construction and/or expansion programs involving the construction/expansion of County facilities and infrastructure. Supervision may be exercised over sub-professional assistants, construction, inspection, maintenance or related clerical operations.
Work entails insuring that all County required documentation and procedures are followed and that processing is expedited for activities related to the construction/expansion programs. Position incumbent is the link between the project team and other County agencies, and coordinates, oversees and expedites the process to obtain various required County approvals. Incumbent establishes time-lines, maintains a document tracking system, prepares, evaluates and reviews reports and documents for correctness, completeness and timeliness, undertakes special studies, and performs analysis. Assignments are received in the form of broad policy statements or general program objectives. Work is performed independently with general supervision by an administrative superior. Performance is reviewed periodically through conferences, written reports and results obtained. Position assists in the preparation of the capital budget associated with the construction/expansion programs.
Administers the preparation and processing of all documents related to the construction/expansion programs.
Establishes a master list and projected time-line, based on project status and schedule, for all major submittals to the County for processing.
Schedules and coordinates Selection and Negotiation Committee meetings.
Establishes and maintains files of project documents and tracks documents in process.
Undertakes special studies, performs analysis and prepares reports.
Assists in the management of design consultants and contractors.
Develops and maintains schedules of reports and submittals due to the Contract Administrator and takes necessary actions to insure that the schedule is met.
Plans, assigns, and reviews the work of a subordinate staff engaged in monitoring the work of contracted architectural and engineering consultants.
Performs related work as required.

Skilled in the use of a personal computer and related software for report preparation, schedule production, budget development, electronic mail, and other correspondence as well as for review and commenting on construction documents.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in engineering, architecture, business administration, construction management or related field, four (4) years of experience overseeing contracts which involved design/construction projects, including two (2) years of experience in government contract procurement and management or any equivalent combination of relevant training and experience.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT
Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License.
