During the Event

Only call if you need:

  • POLICE
  • FIRE
  • EMERGENCY MEDICAL RESPONSE

9-1-1 does not provide hurricane information. It is for extreme emergency situations only. Be mindful that emergency response vehicles may be unable to respond to calls just before or during a hurricane depending upon wind and weather conditions. For example, fire rescue units are generally not able to safely travel after sustained winds reach 35 miles per hour. If you need updated information before, during or after a hurricane, call the Broward County Hurricane Hotline at 311 or 954-831-4000 (TTY 954-831-3940).
