Broward Chosen to Host State Historic Preservation Plan Regional Meeting
Broward County had the honor of hosting a Florida Division of Historical Resources regional meeting to discuss the goals and objectives for the impending State of Florida Comprehensive Historic Preservation Plan. Broward County Historic Preservation Board staff, Rick Ferrer, Matt Defelice and Maribel Feliciano, attended the meeting on March 1st, 2016 at Long Key Nature Center. Presenters were Desiree Estabrook, State Historic Preservation Supervisor and Michael Zimny, State Certified Local Government Coordinator. Broward County Historic Preservation Board Holds Inaugural Meeting
Broward’s Historic Preservation Board Inaugural Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, July 16, 2015 at the Broward County Governmental Center. The meeting is a workshop and orientation for newly appointed Historic Preservation Board members on the Board’s responsibilities, County policies, Broward’s Historic Preservation Ordinance and its new Historic Preservation program. The workshop will include various presentations as well as an overview of Broward’s architectural and historical sites by architect and South Florida native, Thorn Grafton, AIA.
