(6 month temporary position)
Salary Range: $59,084.00 to $94,655.00 per year
Broward County is seeking to fill a position which requires an Accountant with significant governmental accounting experience who is knowledgeable of Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) pronouncements, generally accepted accounting principles, and governmental financial reporting including the preparation of the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). Preferable experience includes performing financial audits of local governments or a high level accountant position within a local government. Candidate must be well versed in detailed general ledger functions, account reconciliations, financial analysis, governmental activities capital asset account reconciliations, grant accounting (including familiarity with FEMA procedures and reimbursement process) and enterprise fund accounting. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Applications including Word, Excel or similar spreadsheet software and familiar with computerized accounting systems required.
A bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required in addition to six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in professional accounting work, including two (2) years experience in a supervisory capacity, or any equivalent combination of relevant training and experience.
