LEGEND - COMBINED PAY PLAN

The Combined Pay Plan only provides information for agencies that are under the County Administrator's "authority." Therefore, information for the constitutional offices (Broward Sheriff's Office, Supervisor of Elections, Property Appraiser, Clerk of the Courts, etc.) is not included in this Combined Pay Plan. Similarly, information for the County Attorney's Office, the County Auditor, the Broward County Planning Council, etc. is not included in the Combined Pay Plan.

Fair Labor Standards Act Code:

Denotes whether or not the classification is exempt or not exempt from the overtime provisions of the FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act), as indicated by the letter "E" or "N."

"E" Indicates that the classification is exempt from the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Employees in these designated classifications work as many hours as necessary to get the job done. They do not receive overtime - either in time off or in cash compensation. However, these employees do receive administrative leave (also known as admin leave or job basis leave) not to exceed 40 hours in a calendar year.

"N" Indicates that the classification is not exempt from the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Employees in these designated classifications must receive overtime (either pay or time off) for hours worked in excess of 40 in a standard work week

B - Blue Collar
D - Unrepresented
E - Unrepresented
M - Mass Transit
N - Unrepresented
P - GSA Professional
Q - Port Supervisory
U - Port Non Supervisory
W - White Collar
X - GSA Supervisory
Y - Unrepresented
Z - Unrepresented

Living Wage:

Employees in benefit eligible full-time and part-time positions shall be paid no less than $11.46 per hour, the Living Wage (LW) rate as of January 1, 2013. For Bargaining Unit employees in benefit eligible positions, the LW adjustment will be paid in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement. There are specific classifications, which have an entry-level hourly rate, which is below the current LW rate; these salary ranges are reflective of the labor market. Nevertheless, in those instances benefit eligible employees shall be paid no less than the current LW.
