Salary Range - $67,032.00 - $109,932.00 per year (dependent on qualifications)
THE POSITION: Broward County Water and Wastewater Services, a large public water and wastewater utility in South Florida serving 600,000 customers, is seeking an Information Systems Manager (S.C.A.D.A. Systems Manager) to lead our Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system team within our Water and Wastewater Operations Division. If you are a dynamic, well-established professional with considerable hands-on knowledge of the principles, practices and strategies of SCADA systems as applied to pump stations and water and wastewater treatment facilities and are seeking a challenge, then consider this outstanding opportunity.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: This is advanced professional and supervisory work in the operation, review, and project coordination of pump stations, water treatment plants, and wastewater treatment plant SCADA systems. The successful candidate must have experience with Allen Bradley automation equipment. In addition, the successful candidate must have experience building wired and wireless networks in a SCADA environment. The candidate will work closely with the internal Information Technology Director to ensure compatibility with current technology standards and practices while maintaining separation of enterprise and SCADA systems. The successful candidate will exercise considerable independent judgment. Assignments usually are received in the form of specific strategies, broad instructions or general program objectives. Work is reviewed through performance, reliability, and functionality. The successful candidate must have the ability to express ideas and concepts effectively both verbally and in writing.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: Graduation from an accredited four year college or university with major course work in computer science, business administration or related field; ten years increasingly responsible operational and supervisory experience with SCADA systems; or any equivalent combination to training and experience.
SALARY AND BENEFITS: Salary will be commensurate with education and experience and is accompanied by an attractive benefits package including participation in the Florida Retirement System.
