HIP Section

Homeless Initiative Partnership Section (HIP) is the designated Lead Agency for the Broward County Homeless Continuum of Care (Coc) Board as well as the CoC’s Homeless Management Information System (HMIS). HIP serves as staff to the Continuum of Care (CoC) Board, the County’s focal point for planning and coordinating services homeless families and individuals.

HIP provides support to the Homeless Providers and Stakeholders Council and is responsible for carrying out the CoC Board’s responsibilities designated as the Local Coalition by the State of Florida. More...

New Landlord Recruitment Initiative Underway

Broward County’s Homeless Initiative Partnership has announced the implementation of a new Landlord Recruitment Initiative. This unique initiative matches Broward County landlords who have homes to rent, with individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness. Rent is guaranteed by local government, state and federally funded programs is implemented locally through Broward Partnership for the Homeless, Broward Outreach Center and members of the Broward County Homeless Initiative Partnership. Initiative Adds Hundreds of Beds for Homeless

In support of goals and objectives in the County's "A Way Home" Plan to End Homelessness, the Broward County Homeless Initiative Partnership has been awarded a grant of more than $8 million by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) through the 2016 HUD Homeless Continuum of Care (CoC) Program Competition. The HUD CoC Program award will fund 19 projects providing Supportive Services, Homeless Management Information System Support, CoC Planning, Transitional Housing, Rapid Rehousing, and Permanent Supportive Housing.
