The Large Animal Disaster Committee (LADC) is an informal committee whose members have considerable interest, knowledge, and experience regarding the health, safety, care, and rescue of large animals. They will partner with Broward County Animal Care and Adoption to accept assignments critical to emergency planning and rescue of large animals in a disaster situation.
To help ensure the safety of your large animals, the LADC requests that you register large animal(s) prior to a hurricane or other threatened emergency.
The registration of large animal(s) will facilitate the return of the animals to their owners in the event that they get loose in an emergency situation.
The first step in the process is to create an account. Once an account is created, owners can login and register each large animal separately. Owners can register as many animals as they like. A phone number is to be entered for each animal.
In addition to registering, owners should clearly identify their large animal(s) prior to a hurricane or other threatened emergency and review Large Animals Information for guidance.
Please share this registration site with others who own large animals. In the event of an emergency, the LADC will be better able to assist the large animal community by collecting the information about of large animals in advance.
