After the storm, a reverse evacuation will be conducted. This means you will be returned to your original pick-up point, but only after the "All Clear" is given.

When can I return to my hotel and resume my vacation?

Broward County Emergency Management will determine when an evacuation order is lifted and the “all clear” is given. The local media outlets will inform the public, or check the Broward County Website at broward.org or call the Broward Hotline at 3-1-1 (in Broward County only) or 954-831-4000.

If the phone system is working, try calling your hotel first to see if they are accepting guests. Exercise caution and remember these post-storm safety tips:

  • treat all downed electrical power lines as if they were live
  • do not walk through puddles or standing water
  • stay clear of debris piles
  • avoid any food, water or personal products that may have come into contact with flood waters
