​Purpose

Advise the Broward County Board of County Commissioners and the Broward County Addiction Recovery Division on matters relating to substance abuse.

Broward County Ordinance #77-61, enacted October 12, 1977.

Amended by Ordinance #2001-06, enacted February 13, 2001, increasing the membership from fifteen to nineteen members.

Amended by Ordinance #2009-08, enacted March 10, 2009, changing the name of the advisory board from Alcohol and Drug Abuse Advisory Board to Substance Abuse Advisory Board.

Membership

Nineteen (19) members.

(1) Each Broward County Commissioner shall appoint two (2) members.

(2) One (1) member shall be appointed by the Broward County Police Chiefs' Association.

Terms

Section 1-233 of Chapter 1, Article XII, Broward County Code of Ordinances, as may be amended from time to time.

Quorum

A majority of the total appointed board members.
