Print Sources -- Books

The Reference Section, located on the fifth floor of the Broward County Main Library, has a collection of reference books on management. Circulating books on management are located on the fourth floor of the Main Library.

Note: Books on management are available at most branches of the Broward County Library and are generally classified in the 658.4 Dewey Decimal section of the library. Call your local branch library for additional information.

Academy of Management Online (AOM)

AOM is a professional society of management professors, management consultants, and practicing business managers whose purpose is to foster advances of research and practice in the management field. The AOM website includes information about the academy, its activities, and its many divisions and interest groups (human resource management, operations management, organization and management theory, etc.) 
Full-text articles from the group's online newsletter, Academy of Management News, are included.

American Management Association (AMA)

The AMA provides information about membership in the association as well as the seminars conducted by the association. Also included are the key findings of surveys and research reports on a variety of topics related to management. 

Association for Training and Development (ASTD)

The website of ASTD, a professional association in the field of workplace learning and performance whose research projects focus on the developmental needs of organizations and the people within them, provides information on the group's conferences and includes an archive of full-text research reports.

Business Management Consultants (BMC)

The website of BMC, a management consulting firm which provides global information on project management to help organizations tackle developmental challenges, provides certification information for Project Management Professionals as well as outlines and descriptions of BMC's courses and public programs. It also includes abstracts and, in some cases, the full text of articles from BMC Journal as well as reviews of new books on project management (with links to amazon.com).

Financial Executives International (FEI)

The website of FEI, a professional organization of senior financial executives from U.S. and Canadian corporations whose purpose is to provide information on changes in managerial and organizational processes, includes information on the institute's seminars, conferences, and continuing education opportunities, as well as job listings. News and developments in the field of financial management as well as information on technical and policy issues are also provided. Peer networking opportunities are included.

Human Resource Planning Society (HRPS)

Institute of Management Administration (IOMA) Business Management Supersite

National Association for Female Executives (NAFE)
