Angela Benjamin

Angela Benjamin heads the Commercial and Construction section of the County Attorney’s Office. Her practice focuses on complex litigation and all aspects of construction law. Ms. Benjamin also provides legal advice to a number of County agencies, including Solid Waste and Recycling Services, the Construction Management Division, the Public Works Department, the County Administrator’s Office, the Broward County Aviation Department, and Water and Wastewater Services.

Before joining the County Attorney’s Office, Ms. Benjamin was an associate with the law firm of White & Case LLP, practicing in the areas of commercial litigation, environmental law and litigation, securities litigation, and intergovernmental disputes. While at White & Case, Ms. Benjamin represented Fortune 500 companies in complex litigation matters. She also represented an individual plaintiff in a multi-million-dollar partnership dispute. The case was tried on liability, with a jury entering a verdict for the plaintiff on all five counts. Also while at White & Case, she represented a number of pro bono clients, assisting individuals with maintaining their public housing and providing legal advice on landlord-tenant issues.

Ms. Benjamin serves on the Florida Bar Code and Rules of Evidence Committee and on the Florida Bar Annual Convention Committee. She also serves as Co-Chair of the Membership Committee, the Judicial Reception Planning Committee, and the Sponsorship Committee of the Miami-Dade Chapter of the Florida Association of Women Lawyers.
