Tony J. Rodriguez

Tony J. Rodriguez heads the Risk Management and Eminent Domain Section of the County Attorney’s Office. The section defends the County against personal injury, wrongful death lawsuits, and other litigation involving a wide array of issues, including claims arising from the use of County recreational facilities or from the operations of various County departments. In addition, the section is involved in the acquisition of property through the exercise of eminent domain in furtherance of various public projects. The Risk Management and Eminent Domain Section is one of the largest practice groups in the County Attorney's Office, and attorneys from the section appear regularly in state and federal court for hearings and trials.
In 25 years with the Office, Tony has obtained numerous jury trial verdicts and negotiated many settlements favorable to Broward County. Tony has been involved in numerous complex litigation projects, including the acquisition of lands for the expansion of the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. He is a member Florida Bar’s Eminent Domain Committee and is certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Circuit Civil Mediator. Tony has been named to Florida Trend magazine’s Legal Elite list for his government work.
