Series XI:  Maps, 1973-1974 (0.10 linear feet)

This series contains maps of the Battle of Gettysburg that Donald T. Pitcher, cartographer, drafted for The Killer Angels.  Shaara was in contact with Pitcher and provided input on the final product. For additional information related to the appearance of the maps see Shaara's correspondence with Stacey Connett, assistant managing editor at David McKay, on 28 March 1974 and 1 April 1974 and Jim Wade's letter to Shaara, 4 October 1973. These letters and other related items may be found in Series III: Correspondence - - Agents and publishing (see Donald T. Pitcher and David McKay Company).
