Celebrate and commemorate with book discussions, displays, events and more

Jewish Heritage Month, commemorated by Broward County Library (BCL) each November, recognizes the history of Jewish contributions to American culture and history. From music to movies, arts to literature, the month is filled with programs, events and happenings that shine a spotlight on Jewish heritage.

Ruth E. Cohan Jewish Book Review Series
November also kicks off the 2011/2012 Ruth E. Cohan Jewish Book Review Series. Five Broward County Library locations will participate in the Ruth E. Cohan Jewish Book Review Series, which presents a book review/discussion once a month from November 2011 through March 2012.

The Ruth E. Cohan Jewish Book Series’ November title is The Eichmann Trial by Deborah Lipstadt, a nonfiction book that takes an in-depth look at the trial of Adolf Eichmann, who was made to answer for his crimes as a Nazi soldier. The complete 2011/2012 Ruth E. Cohan Jewish Book Review Series selections are:

  • The Eichmann Trial by Deborah Lipstadt (November 2011)
  • Portrait of a Spy by Daniel Silva (December 2011)
  • The Prime Ministers by Yehuda Avner (January 2012)
