Travel and explore diverse cultures from around the globe without experiencing jet lag! The African-American Research Library and Cultural Center (AARLCC) presents Destination Fridays, an event held the first Friday of select months. Enjoy the attractions, fun, music, signature delicacies, and tourism highlights of exotic places all at one location! This after-hours event is held from 6:30 to 9:30PM, for ages 21-plus. You may purchase event tickets for $10 at the door using cash or credit card or order online.

It’s back to the islands for fun and frolic on Friday, October 2, 2015. Sample the tastes
and culture of the Caribbean sister islands of Antigua & Barbuda as you
dance to the calypso beat and the metallic tinkle of steel drums.
Come to the library dressed in colorful island clothes or festooned with feathers and beads! “A Grand Prize will be given to the best “Colorful Carnival Outfit.” As you mingle and mix, be sure to enjoy some English Harbour rum (produced in Antigua) and some island delicacies.
Awesome door prizes will be available to some lucky raffle winners. Sign up for a drawing for VIP tickets for two to the 2016 Carnival in Antigua and Barbuda—winners will be announced at the Miami Broward Carnival on October 11.
