Destination Fridays - Trinidad & Tobago on April 10 @ AARLCC
Preen your feathers, paint your face with sparkles and slip on your party mask and dancing shoes! Trinidad & Tobago is the Destination Friday event for April 10 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
at the African-American Research Library and Cultural Center
. "Expect a good time as we celebrate the culture of Trinidad/Tobago and the spirit of Carnival," says Elaina Norlin, Regional Library Manager.
Energize with soca music (the soul of calypso) spun by our DJ! There will be steel drum sessions and lessons, and a body-bending limbo contest with a grand prize to the winner. Enjoy the taste of island foods including Trinidad's signature dish, roti, along with pumpkin sautéed with garlic and onion, chick peas, and curry chicken, washed down with a glass of Trinidad rum punch. A collection of art from Trinidad will be on view in the gallery. Come dressed to party hearty (feathers optional)!
