Creation Stations

 

Creation Station is your place to come and unleash your creativity and ideas. We have Creation Station spaces at libraries throughout Broward County to provide you with the opportunity to explore and learn about innovative technologies including robotics and virtual reality. Create music, draw, photograph and explore your imagination. What will you create today? Hours and equipment vary by location

Looking for somewhere to unleash your creativity and ideas? We have just the place. Nestled in downtown Fort Lauderdale, is a makerspace/gadget lab on the first floor of the Main Library. It's the first free community center in Broward equipped with tools such as state-of-the-art computers and gadgets as well as public access to the latest virtual reality equipment.​​

Lab hours: Monday-Wednesday: 9AM-8PM; Thursday-Saturday: 10AM-6PM; Sunday: Closed

One space just isn't enough. Concentrating on specific creative areas, two other Broward County Libraries are available makerspaces. The Northwest Regional Library in Coral Springs features equipment/space for hands-on projects and a large, open space with work tables. At the Jan Moran Collier City Learning Library in Pompano Beach, the emphasis is on music production with a sound room, engineering booth, electronic keyboards and guitars, drum kits and microphones, as well as, acoustic guitars that are available for check-out in conjunction with a music tutoring program.

Also located at Main Library in downtown Fort Lauderdale, on the 7th floor, this coworking hub offers free work and meeting spaces, high-tech equipment, business resources and expert assistance for creating and growing your business. ​The Studio

​ The Studio is a creative safe space exclusively for teens ages 13 to 19. It offers access to video production gear, musical instruments, state-of-the-art computers and video games as well as hands-on design activities and collaborative workshops on social media, performance art and more.
Studio Hours: Monday, Thursday-Friday: 2:30-6PM; Tuesday-Wednesday: 2:30-8PM; Saturday: 11:30AM-6PM; Sunday: Closed

There are Creation Stations spaces at several libraries as well as additional libraries that offer Creation Station gear.
