Summer at Your Library

Our Summer Program will launch on June 1st! Registration opens June 1st
Theme:  A Universe of Stories

Read, learn, attend great events and win prizes. Open to all ages – preschool, children, teens and adults.

Summer kickoff: 14th Annual Children's BookFest- Saturday, June 1st at North Regional/Broward College Library. Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first man on the moon at the iconic family festival which offers live, top-notch performances, arts and crafts, face painting and a free book for the first 1,000 children.

Summer Program events will be focused on space and astronomy; check out a real-life moon rock at our Main Library, take a trip around the universe via virtual reality demos and enjoy free story times, live performances and shows, art workshops, hands-on programs, presentations, movies, games, S.T.E.A.M. activities and more.  

Special features:

  • Florida Panthers' Summer Reading Tour - pro hometown hockey players will be at various library locations
  • Foster Grandparents visits
  • Hands-on virtual reality events with MERGE Cubes augmented reality gear
  • Free meals and snacks at participating libraries
