Teens: Check In @ Broward County Library During Teen Tech Week™
March 10-16

During Teen Tech Week™ (March 10-16, 2013), Broward County Library invites you to “Check In @ your library!” This year’s theme encourages libraries to open their physical and virtual doors to teens and showcase the outstanding technology they offer, from services such as online homework help and digital literacy-focused programs to resources such as eBooks, movies, music, audiobooks, online research and more.

A recent Pew Internet & American Life project found that 93 percent of teens go online, with many using social networking sites, finding news and information, sharing content they create and looking for information on health. Teens need to know that the library is a trusted resource for accessing information and that librarians are the experts who can help them develop the skills they need to use electronic resources effectively and efficiently. Teen Tech Week™ is a national initiative sponsored by the Young Adult Library Services Association aimed at teens, parents, educators and other concerned adults.

Broward County Library will host a number of fun, free programs and activities created especially for teens. Take a look back at techno gadgets from the past, see photos taken for and by teens or test your gaming skills. Here’s what’s happening during Teen Tech Week™ at Broward County Libraries:
