If you think you can dance, you’re in luck. Strut your stuff this month in celebration of National Dance Day on Saturday, July 27. This foot-stomping holiday was launched by renowned dancer/choreographer Nigel Lythgoe, co-creator of television’s So You Think You Can Dance.
National Dance Day’s not just an excuse to show off your smoothest moves. With the national obesity rate climbing, getting fit and in good health is serious, but dancing extra weight away is easy!
Each year the Dizzy Feet Foundation, the organization founded by Lythgoe, sponsors National Dance Day and hosts two national dance events. They also create special choreographed dances that everyone can learn, perform or shares with others on National Dance Day. Check out the instructional video and no matter what your age or fitness range, you’ll be moving in no time.
National Dance Day Events
Whether its hip-hop moves, hula dancing or rockin’ and rollin’, National Dance Day is for all ages!
