Free Computer Classes at Your Library
 
Adult computer class using laptopsWhatever your educational goals may be, you can help achieve them by taking a free computer class at Broward County Library. If you’re a novice, take a beginning computer literacy class to get acquainted with the computer, or choose from classes in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, file management and more. All for free at your library!
 
Your Broward County Library Card – Get It, Use It, Love It!
 
One of the most valuable school supplies anyone can carry is a Broward County Library card, which is free to all residents of Broward County (non-residents must pay a fee).BCL WoW Library Cards
 
Resources at Broward County Libraries are available to anyone with a library card, which allows customers to access everything from online live tutoring to free public-use computers to free programs such as SAT/ACT prep. Customers can also download free books, magazine and music anytime and anyplace from BCL WoW - Broward County Library Without Walls. With BCL WoW, customers can access publications and resources to help with classes or download a few tunes to listen to while studying.
 
Ask a Librarian - Real People. Real Help. Real Fast!Ask a Librarian: Have questions? Need help? Ask a librarian from the convenience of your computer or phone. There’s three ways to access assistance (Broward County Library card required):

  • Chat - Talk to live virtual reference librarians from 10 a.m. to midnight Sunday through Thursday (EST), and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday (EST).
  • E-mail - An e-mail form is available to patrons 24 hours per day, seven days per week.
  • Text - You can also Text us at 321-285-6959 bcl for quick answers from an expert - a Florida Librarian. Type bcl as the first three characters of the text, then type your question. You should receive a reply within minutes! Text Assistance is available Sunday-Thursday 10 a.m. - Midnight, Friday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (EST).

Free, Live Online Tutoring: Broward County Libraries offers free, live online tutoring in a range of subjects; for young and adult learners. Use your Broward County Library card to access HelpNow from BrainFuse – it’s live, free tutoring and skills-building for K-12, college and adult learners. Get help in English/language arts, math, writing, foreign language, science, social studies and SAT/ACT/GED. Available daily from 2 to 11 p.m.
 
The Creation Station at Broward County’s Main Library 
 
Take a three-dimensional approach to the new school year at the Creation Station, a makerspace and gadget lab at Main Library that represents the democratization of design, engineering, fabrication and education for all residents of Broward County.Creation Station, Broward County Main Library 
 
The Main Library Creation Station makerspace is a community center with tools that enable individuals to design, prototype and make 3D items. It features cutting-edge technology including 3D printers, allowing anyone to become a creator, innovator, designer or engineer.
 
Find these state-of-the-art free services at the Creation Station:

  • 3D printers and 3D design software
  • Snap Circuits electronics and LEGO robotics
  • Gadget Bar with a variety of the latest tablets
  • Leap Motion: Control a computer with a wave of your hand
  • iMac Computers with design software including Photoshop (image editing/compositing), Illustrator (vector graphics illustration), InDesign (page design/layout/publishing) and Premiere (video production/editing)
