Hispanic artifacts

From art to dance, celebrate Hispanic heritage with Broward County Libraries.

This year, Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15-Oct. 15) takes on special meaning for Floridians. It was 500 years ago that Juan Ponce de Leon first explored the Sunshine State, bringing with him Hispanic culture, language and traditions that continue to enrich all people of Florida. Statewide, communities and organizations are also celebrating Viva Florida 500, the anniversary of this discovery and the commemoration of Florida's rich history.

Enjoy a month-long fiesta of song, dance, stories, art and children’s activities as Broward County Libraries observes both Hispanic Heritage Month and Viva Florida 500. For more information, please check the Library’s online Hispanic Heritage Month event calendar.
