Art Spot: Can you name the library branch where this public art is located?

  • Artist:  George Gadson
  • Title:  Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow
  • Medium:  Integrated Art - Installation with multiple components
  • Year Installed:  2010

This outdoor integrated sculpture consists of two major components, making it a meditation on place and time. A three-dimensional globe of naval bronze is mounted on an exterior library wall in two halves. Seven plaques beneath the globe display inform viewers about local history. Across the lawn, an interactive granite sundial uses the visitor’s shadow to tell time. The design element of the world celebrates the diverse cultures found in the city.

Come back next week for the answer!
