​​​The Broward County Comprehensive Plan​ underwent updates, BrowardNext2.0​, to be consistent with the countywide BrowardNext Land Use Plan adopted in April 2017.  Broward County held a series of community workshops in June and July 2017, to engage residents and business owners from the Broward Municipal Services District in an exchange of ideas about the BMSD Comprehensive Plan.  During the workshops, attendees learned about the progress of capital improvement projects and investments, and available programs and services.  Residents and business owners also discussed current needs and priorities for all the BMSD neighborhoods.  Another series of workshops were held in December 2017 to review the policy recommendations and programs proposed to address the community needs and priorities.  The final plan was adopted March 2019 with a minor revision adopted March 2020.​  Amendments related to the peril flood were adopted in January 2022.
