Are We Ready? Preparing for the Public Health Challenges of Climate Change: April 2008. Climate change is a concern to most local public health directors but few have resources to tackle the problem, according to a national survey conducted by National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO), Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) and George Mason University. The survey is the first national one of its kind that assesses the perceptions and activities of local public health directors regarding climate change and public health.

Analyses of the effects of global change on human health and welfare and human systems: July 2008. A 284 page report by the U.S. Climate Change Science Program and the Subcommittee on Global Change Research focuses on impacts of global climate change, especially impacts on three broad dimensions of the human condition: human health, human settlements, and human welfare.

Public Health-Related Impacts of Climate Change in California (PDF): March 2006. This 149 page white paper from California Climate Change Center discusses how aspects of climate change such as extreme heat conditions, wildfires, air quality and pollution will impact human health in California.
