The Climate Change Task Force develops recommendations for a coordinated county-wide strategy in mitigating the causes, and addressing the local implications, of global climate change. The Task Force members are appointed by the County Commission and supported by County staff. (Current Member List)
The Task Force meets quarterly, normally on the third Thursday of the months of: February, May, August, and November.

The Task Force has created various subcommittees to address scientific and technical issues; the built environment: economic, social and health issues; greenhouse gas reductions; natural systems; and intergovernmental affairs. In 2015, the subcommittees will meet March through July to update the Climate Action Plan. An update to the plan occurs every five years. Here’s how you can get involved:
1. Review the Climate Action Plan 2010
2. Find out which committee interests you (Climate Action Plan Subcommittee Mission Statements).
3. Attend a Climate Action Planning Subcommittee Meeting (Scheduled Meeting Dates 2015)
