Fertilizing
If you do choose to fertilize your turf grass remember to use low (2% or less) phosphorus content - the middle number as shown on the bag in the image below. Always apply at the rate as instructed on the bag. Protect water quality by maintaining of 10 foot "Ring of Responsibility" adjacent to water bodies.
This area must be kept free of fertilizers and pesticides.
Proper Mowing

Mow at the recommended height for your grass type. Do not remove more than one-third of the grass blade per mowing.

Leave grass clippings on the lawn to return nutrients to the soil. Decomposed clippings improve soil fertility over time. Leaving the grass clippings on the lawn returns 1 pound of nitrogen back to the lawn each year!

Keep grass clippings out of water bodies and off impervious surfaces such as sidewalks and driveways.
