What Are Emerald Awards?

The Annual Broward County Emerald Award Program is designed to recognize businesses, governments, individuals, or organizations in Broward County demonstrating a commitment to protecting and preserving our environment.

The 2012 NatureScape Homeowner Winners receive awards from Mayor Kristin Jacobs at 11th Annual Water Matters Day on March 9th.

The NatureScape Broward category recognizes businesses, municipalities, schools, government facilities, and homeowners that have created and maintained model Florida-friendly landscapes or completed exceptional projects.  NatureScape trophies are given in the following categories:

  • Homeowner
  • Business
  • Municipality/School/Government
  • Special Achievement

Applications are due by December 31st each year.  The NatureScape Emerald Award Committee schedules site visits and determines the finalists.  A panel of esteemed Judges then select the winners. Winners are invited to the Emerald Awards Ceremony on each annual Water Matters Day to receive their trophy.
