Second Annual P3 Eco-Challenge and 12th Annual Broward Water Matters Day Planning Underway
The School Board of Broward County, the Environmental Education Council (EEC) of Broward County, and the Natural Resources Planning and Management Division have begun planning for the Second Annual Broward P3 Eco-Challenge Awards Ceremony, to be held on Wednesday, May 14th at Long Key Nature Center in Davie. The ceremony recognizes and rewards traditional BCPS schools, teachers, students, administrators, and volunteers for their efforts to learn about and implement environmentally sustainable measures and green initiatives within their schools and communities. Over $20,000 worth of prizes were awarded at last year’s ceremony.
This year’s application process starts in February 2014, but you can get ready now by downloading the rubrics and resources found online at the STEM & Instructional Resources website: stem.browardschools.com/p3/. Be sure to look at the new items for 2013-2014.
The 12th Annual Water Matters Day, Broward County’s premier environmental education event, will be held Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Tree Tops Park in Davie. This family-friendly event has many opportunities for student, teacher, and school participation.
