Groundbreaking Ceremony Scheduled for August 21
Groundbreaking festivities will begin on August 21, at 8:30 a.m. on the first floor of the West Parking Garage on S.E. Sixth Street in Fort Lauderdale. The program will feature remarks by officials and the Chief Judge. Parking will be available on the second through fourth floors of the West Parking Garage and all attendees must remove their vehicles by 10:30 a.m. to make way for demolition activities.

Immediately following the groundbreaking ceremony, preparation for the demolition of the West Parking Garage will begin. An updated project timeline is available and includes key dates and action items.

- August 2, the north lane of Sixth Street (adjacent to the Judicial Complex) will be closed from S.E. Third Ave. to S.E. First Ave. Two lanes of traffic on Sixth Street will remain open.
- On Wednesday, August 22, the north bound lane on First Ave. (adjacent to the Judicial Complex) will be closed from S.E. Sixth Street to Courthouse Drive; south bound lane will remain open.
