Updates to Florida Statutes on Geoengineering and Weather Modification Activities
In accordance with Florida statutes, all operators of public-use airports within the state must report the presence of any aircraft equipped with weather modification or geoengineering equipment to the Florida Department of Transportation on a monthly basis, effective October 1, 2025. In addition to continuing to ban weather modification activities in Florida, the updated law prohibits geoengineering and atmospheric experimentation statewide, including the injection, release or dispersion of chemicals or substances into the atmosphere for the express purpose of altering weather, temperature, climate or sunlight intensity.

Subway Blimp Visit

A Subway-themed blimp was stationed at North Perry Airport (HWO) from September 24-26 for a corporate promotional event organized by the restaurant brand known for its made-to-order sandwiches, wraps, and salads.
