Broward County > Parks > Extension Education > Commercial Horticulture

In urban Broward County, horticulture dominates the commercial agricultural production. Nursery production, landscape installation, landscape maintenance, and arboriculture account for over $200 million in annual sales. Hundreds of firms employ thousands of individuals helping contribute to a strong Broward economy and a beautiful environment.

The Extension Education Division provides educational programming, workshops, seminars and diagnostic services to help these industries be environmentally friendly, successfully managed, and on the cutting edge of new technologies and issues. The extensive research base of the University of Florida's Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, Cooperative Extension Service is utilized by the Division to insure that recommendations are solidly anchored in scientific research.
