UnitedHealthcare workers came out to Broward County’s newest regional park, Miramar Pineland in Miramar, on March 5, 2013, to help install native plants around the main entrance sign. They also helped remove non-native invasive plants from the site. Most of the participants flew in from Minnesota for a meeting in Miramar, and while here, the group gave back to the community by helping beautify the park. Participants said it was nice to be outside working in the sun and nice breeze and to help with community projects. Pat Howell, from the Parks and Recreation Division’s Planning and Development Section, and Park Manager Rich Newman led the day’s project.
