Oh Behave Dog Training
Basic Dog Obedience:
Imagine teaching your dog basic skills: sit, down, come, stay, and loose leash walking in a beautiful and fun setting. We will address problem behaviors like jumping up, leash pulling, and play biting to make your dog a good family member. Our positive, reward-based program is a great bonding experience for you and your dog under the lovely shady trees at Plantation Heritage Park. We incorporate games and fun contests during class, too! Join us on Saturday mornings for more fun than humans should be allowed! Class times, required registration forms, and more information are available at Oh Behave.
Oh Behave Basic Obedience Group Lessons cost $130 per dog for six classes and there must be at least one adult handler per dog. The $130 fee does not include the park entrance fee of $1.50 per person. The dog student must be at least 5 months old and have a current Broward County rabies tag. No aggressive dogs, please.
What should you bring on the first day of class? The dog student, a nylon buckle collar, a six-foot leash (no retractable leashes), and a bag of favorite treats cut or broken into small pieces. We will meet in the parking lot by the park management office. Registration is required - see registration form.
K9 Fun Nosework
Wouldn’t it be great if your dog could find your keys or your cell phone? Dogs have an amazing sense of smell and a natural desire to hunt. This class focuses on teaching you how to encourage and develop your dog’s natural scenting abilities by using their desire to hunt and their love of toys, food and exercise. It’s a great class for your dog to have fun, build confidence, and burn lots of mental and physical energy.
The program fee of $130 per dog includes six classes and there must be at least one adult handler per dog. The $130 fee does not include the park entrance fee of $1.50 per person. The dog student must be at least 5 months of age and have a current Broward County rabies tag. No aggressive dogs, please. Registration is required - see registration form.

PlayTrain Dog Training at Markham Park
Basic Positive Training: Saturdays, 9 a.m.
The cost for the five-week class is $150. Dogs should be 5 months and older, handlers 16 and older. Proof of vaccination is required. Call 954-349-5969 to preregister.
You will learn:
• How to teach your dog to be calm and focused around people and other dogs.
• How to apply the basics, such as sit, watch me, down, stay, leave it, and wait to replace unwanted behavior with desirable behavior.
• Verbal commands and standard working hand signals.
• How to walk your dog with a loose leash and greet other dogs and people calmly.
• How to have a super-fast and reliable recall ( three seconds at 30 feet by graduation is the goal!)
• How to fade the treats and use life rewards, including play
Your dog is taught and rewarded for desirable behavior, increasing his likelihood of repeating it. R+ training is reward-based, not punishment-based. You’ll learn how to gain your dog's cooperation without choke chains, prong collars, shock collars, or leash corrections. The result is a dog that obeys with enthusiasm, not fear.
Canine Good Citizen: Saturdays, 10:15 a.m.
This is a handling class to prepare for the CGC test, which is administered on the last class. You and your dog must already have mastered the basic exercises, therefore the Basic Positive Training Class is a pre-requisite. The cost for the five-week class, including the test and collar tag if you pass, is $150. Call 954-349-5969 to preregister.
