Guided Nature Walks
Saturdays, 3:30 p.m., and Sundays, 9:30 a.m. Explore the trails at Secret Woods while learning about native South Florida habitats. For all ages. Free.
Lori's Line Dancing
The musical lineup includes a wide range of beginner, improved beginner, and intermediate dances to peppy musical genres including pop, country, rock 'n' roll, R&B, Latin, and soul. Fees: Classes are $8/person or $6/senior (ages 55 and up). Call Lori at 954-551-1354 to register.
Second Saturday of the month, 9 a.m.-noon. Volunteers clean up trash, plant native plants, and/or remove non-native invasive plants. Students can earn community service hours for graduation and college scholarships, and others can help improve and preserve the environment. Volunteers should dress appropriately with long sleeves, long pants, and closed-toe shoes that can get dirty. Participants should bring gloves, a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, and drinking water. Extra tools such as shovels, rakes, and hand pruners are welcome. You must fill out a volunteer form in order to participate. Free.
Learn a bout fish anatomy, their coloration, habitats, respiration -- all things fish! Hear the story of Japanese Gyotaku and make fish prints of your own. For ages 6 and up. $8/person. Preregistration is required.
Florida Native Plant Society Speaker Series
Enjoy learning about Florida's native plants with a different speaker each month. Second Wednesday of the month, 7-9 p.m.
Each month will feature new investigations and experiments led by a park naturalist. For ages 5 to 12 accompanied by an adult. $5/child. Preregistration is required.
Kids and their parents can join a Broward County Parks naturalist and learn about nature with through stories, songs, arts and crafts, and more. Fourth Thursday of the month, 10-11 a.m.
Owls Give a Hoot
Be a detective and dig through a pellet to discover the ecology of these night-time raptors. For ages 5 and up. $5/person. Preregistration is required.
Super Science Sunday
Ages 7 to 12 (accompanied by an adult) will explore different science topics through interactive presentations with a park naturalist. $5/child. Preregistration and adult supervision are required.
A Creature's Trick-or-Treat
The event, for ages 2 and up, will take participants out onto the trails to learn about the creatures they see while grabbing a treat or two along the way. The fee is $5/child.

Krafting With Kay
Explore traditional crafts in nontraditional ways with this creative class. For ages 7 to 12 with a parent or guardian. Preregistration is required. A requested donation of $2/person benefits the Friends on Secret Woods.
Learn about photography, painting, recycling, plants, and nature as you volunteer to help at our special events. Hike our trails and pick up litter, plant native trees, remove exotic plants, or maintain our geocaches and letterboxes. Feeling crafty? Design and create signs, decorations, and games for our upcoming programs. Need community service hours to graduate? We'll customize a program tailored to your interests and schedule.
