County Launches Twitter Site “Ready Broward”
Broward residents can follow and receive official Broward County public safety and emergency information on Twitter. During a hurricane threat, these updates come directly from the Emergency Operations Center and could include evacuation notices, shelter openings, flooding alerts and other pertinent information that will keep residents safe before, during and after a storm. County Launches “Pet Snack Shack” Donation Drive
Animal Care has launched a “Pet Snack Shack” donation drive through August 31, to collect food and supplies for cats and dogs at the County’s two shelters. Animal Care feeds and cares for more than 20,000 lost and surrendered animals at the shelters each year. Suggested items for donation include cat and dog food (canned or dry, pop-top cans preferred), cat and dog treats, and cat litter. More...

New Centralized Intake and Eligibility Program to Assist Residents Living with HIV
Broward County has implemented a new program to simplify the enrollment and recertification processes for Ryan White Part A clients accessing HIV care and support services. Effective August 1, 2010, the Broward Regional Health Planning Council, Inc. will serve as a single point of entry for those receiving Ryan White Part A services in Broward County. More…
