Comcast Cares Day is the largest corporate volunteer day of service in Broward County, and Reverend Samuel Delevoe Park was the site of the 2014 event! On Saturday, April 26, 2014, more than 300 volunteers worked on a variety of park improvement projects from 9 a.m. to noon. Projects included a waterway cleanup, laying 10 pallets of mulch to improve landscaping, painting the playground and dock rails, creating homeless kits to be donated to Cooperative Feeding, and painting a beautiful outdoor mural. Hands On Broward assisted with the coordination of the event, which kicked off with a catered breakfast and a welcome from Broward County Commissioner Dale V.C. Holness, who issued a proclamation for the event. The day of service concluded with a cookout for the volunteers.
