Giving back to the community is something Florida Power & Light Company
(FPL) does year round, and volunteering during Power to Care Week, which in 2016 ran from February 29 through March 5, is one of the ways FPL makes a difference.
Now in its eighth year, FPL's Power to Care initiative involves employees and their families and friends in a week of community service. Through service projects at schools, playgrounds, nonprofits, and parks, the program is one way FPL works with the communities it serves to make Florida an even better place to work and raise a family. This year Power to Care Week included 31 events in 12 counties across the state, with more than 1,500 volunteers taking part.
In Broward County, on March 5, 2016, FPL volunteers participated in a local project at Lewis-Chisom Park in Fort Lauderdale, making improvements in the park and landscaping.
Thank you, FPL, for your ongoing support of and commitment to Broward County Parks!
