HandsOn Broward's Summer Service Camp volunteered their services on Friday, August 7, 2015, at the stables at Tradewinds Park. Twenty-five participants logged more than a hundred hours in the horse barn, where they sanded and repainted the stall bars for the 30 horse stalls.
The teens came ready to work, and work they did. They arrived promptly at 10 a.m. with all the materials they needed for the day - sandpaper, paint, drop cloths, paintbrushes, and more. Even though it was the end of their camp week and they had already volunteered multiple times for many hours, they came to us smiling and ready to help us restore the shine to our facility.
Tradewinds staff took the volunteers over to the farmyard and introduced them to the animals, including some new baby goats, which delighted the teens. Many thanks to HandsOn Broward and their fabulous staff and volunteers.
