MLK Day of Service at Reverend Samuel Delevoe Park
MLK Day of Service at Reverend Samuel Delevoe Park

The MLK Day of Service hosted by HandsOn Broward in conjunction with the MLK Planning Committee was held at Reverend Samuel Delevoe Park on Saturday, January 17, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Close to 110 volunteers participated in a variety of park beautification projects including landscaping, painting, and a waterway clean-up of the North Fork of the historic New River.

HandsOn Broward donated three pallets of mulch in addition to a variety of native plants to beautify the flower beds surrounding the park’s community center. Volunteers weeded, raked, planted, laid the new mulch, repainted the park's bathrooms, and recovered pounds of trash from the New River including a bike and several abandoned tires. Once the work was completed everyone enjoyed a BBQ to celebrate the day.
