On Saturday, September 10, 2016, approximately 50 volunteers from Wells Fargo arrived at Tree Tops Park in Davie and volunteered for roughly four hours. The group quickly broke into several smaller teams. Some volunteers patrolled the nature and horse trails and removed garbage from the woods off the trails, while others trimmed overgrown branches and bushes in those areas, making it easier for hikers and horseback riders to make their way through the woods. In several areas of the park, the invasive exotic plants known as mother-in-law's tongue were pulled out and piled for park staff to dispose of. Other volunteers went out onto the lake and into the marsh to remove floating trash. The project was a success based not only on the measured amount of work accomplished but also on how enjoyable the experience was for those involved. By assisting the staff of the park, the volunteers made an impact on the communities they serve. Their help was very much appreciated!
