We can assist you in getting a permit for a special event held in unincorporated Broward County, Brian Piccolo Park and Quiet Waters Park. If you are planning a special event outside of these areas, we suggest you first notify the city in which the selected site is located and request their specific requirements.
Note: per Chapter 489 of the Florida State Statutes, only contractors certified by the State of Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation or the Broward County Central Examining Board may apply and obtain all Florida Building Code required permits for "special events."
Please allow enough planning time to go through the permitting and approval process. Types of special events you may need a permit for are:
Depending on the type of event you are sponsoring, you may need to visit several licensing agencies which may also include local and/or state agencies. This will depend on:

- Estimated attendance
- Type of structures that will be built or may already be present
- Whether amusement rides will be present
- Information regarding food sales/preparation
- Sanitary facilities
These are examples of many of the items you'll be verifying, but your event description could trigger other needs. Special Events Checklist
Zoning Tip: always verify first that local zoning requirements allow the activity you've planned at the site location you've selected. We will verify that the location is suitable for the needs of the event. This includes but is not limited to:
- Minimum site requirements
- Access for cars and parking
- Lighting and signage
In addition to county and/or local agencies you may need to contact certain state agencies, depending on the type of activities or attractions that will be present at the event:
