The Federal Emergency Management Agency’s new Flood Insurance Rate Maps for Broward County became effective on August 18th, 2014.  Broward County and the 31 municipal governments in Broward County have received the finalized flood maps from FEMA and have adopted them.  The finalized maps will now be used by insurance companies for flood insurance purposes and the updated base flood elevations must be used for all new construction and substantial improvements to existing construction.  The new flood maps are available for viewing here...
