About [top]

We provide demographic data analysis services for Broward County agencies. Here you will find population and economic statistics, trends, and research about the residents and businesses that make up Broward County. The Community Profiles Dashboard Series provides an overview of commonly
requested demographics figures for the 31 municipalities and 6 Broward Municipal Service District neighborhoods (BMSD). Broward-by-the-Numbers is an occasional publication that highlights new data about people, housing, and the local economy. We also provide long-range population forecasts, for areas within the County, which are used for transportation, water supply and school planning.

Broward County and Municipal Populations
  • 2010 Decennial Census Count - The 2010 Census is one of the decennial censuses conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau.   The decennial census is constitutionally mandated and is conducted to determine an official count of the people living in the United States.  The data collected is used to reapportion seats in the House of Representatives, to realign congressional districts, and as a factor in the formulas that distribute hundreds of billions of dollars in federal funds each year.  For more information go to:
  • 2017 ACS Estimate - The American Community Survey (ACS) 5-year Population Estimate is a U.S. Census Bureau product. 60 months of data is collected and used to generate estimates to provide communities with updated information. The survey is sent to a limited number of people in each community, therefore it is only a representative estimate. For more information go to:
  • 2018 BEBR Estimate - University of Florida’s Bureau of Economic and Business Research (BEBR) is an official source of Florida statewide demographic data that annually produces estimates and 30 year projections used for state-revenue sharing and other local budgeting purposes. Annual estimates are provided at a county and municipal level. For more information go to:
