Public Submissions of Maps
The State of Florida developed Web-based software, called “MyDistrictBuilder,” which the public was able to access for free to draw Federal congressional and State legislative maps to submit for consideration. This software was also available for members of the public to draw custom maps for Broward County Commission districts.
Staff from Broward County Planning and Redevelopment Division was available to help train members of the public on the use of the software and the process for submitting maps. Paper maps were also available, with voter precincts and current Commission district boundaries noted, for members of the public interested in drawing maps by hand.
The County accepted public maps for consideration until October 21, 2011 at 5 p.m.
